One way that the dynamic
range problem has been addressed in the past is by
compressing the source material that is mastered onto CDs
and DVDs.
AM and
FM radio stations often further compresses audio,
particularly when they anticipate that much of their
audience is listening on car radios in noisy environments.
The problem is that often the listener is in an environment
where they can hear a much larger dynamic range than what
is being provided.
By
allowing the user to restore the original dynamic range,
Syfx makes sound more “alive” and
“exciting” - less flat and more natural
